John of Rolleston Primary School

Welcome

Welcome from Mrs McCaffrey, Headteacher:

John of Rolleston is committed to providing the highest standards of education for all of our children. Our vision is to allow all children to be the very best they can be through our ASPIRE values. Our values sit at the heart of our curriculum and education offer.

We believe that hard work, collaboration and perseverance are the keys to helping children become successful in their learning. We ask each child to work on their personal best and learn from each other. In addition, we as staff, develop our leadership skills through our collaboration.

We want children to feel happy and safe, enabling them to take risks and develop their sense of identity in a supportive community. We strive to make learning as fun, real and engaging as possible, to foster a love of learning that can last a lifetime. We aim to allow every child to be whoever and whatever they want to be in the future; no door should be left closed by the time they leave us, to start their next learning journey.

We are committed to the living of our values, we improve our teaching by adopting a shared pedagogy on learning and reflecting on where we are as a school and as individuals. This allows us to strive for our own personal best as teachers - it sets the culture and ethos we expect from all of our school family.

We are at the heart of the community, we work closely with our families and the wider village to ensure we are all invested in our wonderful children. We also have a committed parents and teachers association called FOJORPS, which raises funds for for our pupils. We use our networks inside and outside of the Central Co-operative Learning Trust to share best practice and learn from others to ensure we provide the highest quality of education. We look forward to sharing our passion for learning with you.

Welcome from Mr Copley, Chair of Governors:

On behalf of the Local Governing Board of John of Rolleston Primary School I would like to welcome you to our family.

As Governors, we are committed to providing our children with the best possible education – not just academically, but socially and psychologically, so that we educate the 'whole' child and provide them with the tools to survive in the modern world.

The Governors work in strong partnership with the school staff (teaching and support), the parents, the Multi-Academy Trust, of which we are an integral part of our local community and with the pupils.

We are proud of our holistic and fully inclusive approach. We set high standards, but remain open to discussion, dialogue and new ideas.
